Trump announces news conference on Venezuela operation at Mar-a-Lago

PALM BEACH, Fla. — President Donald Trump said he will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. Saturday at his Mar-a-Lago residence, according to a post on his Truth Social account.

In the post, Trump claimed the United States carried out a large-scale operation against Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Trump said the operation was conducted in coordination with U.S. law enforcement and that the pair were flown out of the country.

"Details to follow," Trump wrote, adding that he would address the matter at the scheduled news conference.

Trump said the news conference will take place at 11 a.m. at Mar-a-Lago.
