Naples fireworks returns after 2025 cancellation

NAPLES. Fla., - Naples celebrated the new year with a fireworks show that lit up the sky and brought together families, visitors, and locals for a night of celebration on Saturday.

The annual display, which was canceled in 2025 due to traffic and safety concerns, made its much-anticipated return.

This event draws more than 20,000 people each year to the city's beaches.

What makes this fireworks display unique is that spectators can sit anywhere along the Naples shoreline to enjoy the bright, colorful show.

This year's event took place three days after New Year's Eve, a change from previous years.

Naples resident Ed Koehler, who has watched the fireworks show for 35 years, shared his thoughts.

"If the weather is permitting which it is now it’s usually great you know it’s a nice show," said Koehler. "Easy to watch. Everyone gets a good view and it’s very relaxing and fun."

The fireworks show ended at 7 p.m.
