New year, new glow: Inside Fort Myers’ V/O Med Spa

The new year often comes with a long list of resolutions: Eat better. Work out more. Stress less. This year, one Fort Myers business wants self-care to be at the top of that list.

V/O Med Spa in Fort Myers is redefining what a spa visit looks like. This is not a quick face mask and cucumber slices at home. The medical spa is staffed with nurse practitioners, utilizes medical-grade equipment and skincare, and offers treatments backed by clinical expertise.

Inside the spa, clients can choose from a wide range of facials, including HydraFacials, Glo2 facials and the spa’s popular V/O signature facial. But skincare is only part of the picture.

V/O Med Spa places a strong focus on overall wellness. That includes IV therapy, laser treatments, anti-aging services, and customized care plans designed to support both skin health and the body as a whole.

Owner Marissa Kartheiser opened the medical spa nearly a year ago with a specific goal in mind: “I wanted to create a place where people could start their wellness journey,” Kartheiser said.

For those just beginning to build a skincare routine, Kartheiser said it does not have to be complicated. She recommends starting with three essentials: a medical-grade cleanser, a moisturizer, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

“The difference is that drugstore products only sit on the surface,” Kartheiser said. “These medical-grade products are clinically proven. They allow skincare to go deeper than your skin and improve overall skin health.”

Kartheiser said she also wants V/O Med Spa to feel safe and welcoming, especially for people who may feel overwhelmed by wellness trends or unsure where to begin. Her goal is to create a space where questions are encouraged, and judgment is left at the door.

The treatments are not just for adults. Kartheiser said facials can also benefit kids and teenagers, especially those struggling with acne, “For acne-prone kids, I recommend a custom V/O signature facial,” Kartheiser said. “Start with a treatment plan and educate them on how to take care of their skin.”

From wrinkle relaxers and laser treatments to IV drips designed to support, Kartheiser said the spa’s services are meant to support confidence and overall well-being.

"We have IV drips used by athletes who need a boost, or by people with autoimmune diseases who are coming for support,” she said.

As 2026 begins, V/O Med Spa is encouraging people to think beyond resolutions that fade by February. Instead, the focus is on long-term wellness and taking care of yourself from the inside out.
