Sen. Rick Scott discusses arrest of Nicolás Maduro

During the news conference on Monday morning, Scott discussed the people he says helped out in the process, which included President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the media. 

When talking about the media, Scott said, "You have cared about this issue, primarily in Miami. If it wasn't for you, this wouldn't have happened."

Scott condemned Maduro during the news conference.

"Let's remember what Maduro is: he is a drug trafficker, he is a narcoterrorist. He sent gangs of Venezuelans to terrorize Americans, to rape Americans, to sell drugs to Americans. This is a despicable human being," he said.

Scott said that Trump, from the beginning, helped with Maduro's capture.

"From day one, President Trump has held Maduro accountable. He's stopped the oil from flowing; he's stopped the drug boats," he said.
