Authorities identify person of interest in Veterans Park shots-fired incident

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers has identified a person of interest in the active investigation into Monday's shots-fired incident at Veterans Park in Lehigh Acres.

The person of interest is a man last seen wearing a black balaclava and unique gray foam shoes, who may be known as "McGill" and possibly attends a local Lehigh Acres high school, Crime Stoppers said.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in identifying the man.

The search stems from a fight that included dozens of people and took place at Veterans Park on Monday.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said that during the fight, a victim was pistol-whipped and shots were fired into the air.

The LCSO said the investigation into the incident continued overnight, and multiple suspects were questioned. No arrests have been made.
