Cape Coral police conducting active investigation at jewelry store

The Cape Coral Police Department is conducting an active investigation in the area of NE Pine Island Road and NE 2nd Place.

Police responded to the scene late Tuesday morning, where law enforcement asked the public to avoid the area while they conducted their investigation. 

Police have isolated their efforts on a Tio's Jewelry store, placing yellow crime scene tape around the perimeter.  

It remains unclear why police are at the shopping center and how many people are involved in this investigation. WINK News reporter Paul Dolan is at the scene to gather more information.
