Comics, kava and trivia collide at Island Vibes’ first Comic Night

If comics and kava are your thing, this night is calling your name.

On Tuesday, Island Vibes Kava Bar is hosting its first-ever Comic Trivia Night, turning pages and pouring good vibes for a night built around all things comics.

From DC to Marvel and everything in between, the trivia questions dive deep into the worlds fans know and love. Bring a friend, grab a drink, and get ready to put your comic knowledge to the test.

There is even a bonus for showing up. Guests have the chance to score a free comic, courtesy of Cool Comics. Owner Tom Lotz said comics continue to connect people because they never go out of style.

“There are so many different options of comics; there’s something for everyone,” Lotz said.

The event also celebrates Comic Book Day, a time dedicated to appreciating the art, storytelling, and creativity behind comics. Island Vibes Kava Bar says the goal is not just trivia and prizes, but creating a space where local artists can share their work and the community can reconnect with something tangible.

Holding a comic, flipping through the pages, and seeing the art up close is part of the magic. Organizers say forgetting comics would mean losing a form of creativity you can only experience in your hands.

The owner of Island Vibes Kava Bar said the space is meant to be welcoming and judgment-free.

“Hopefully it’ll be a mix of our regular crowd and those who are curious,” the owner said. “If you’re nervous, don’t be. It’ll be fun for everyone.”

Trivia starts at 7:30 p.m., and there will be prizes. Everyone is welcome.
