Fort Myers man arrested, faces child sexual abuse material charges

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. —

A Fort Myers man was arrested after being accused of possessing online child sexual abuse material.

On Dec. 31, 2025, Michael Vincent Ferguson Jr., 20, was arrested on an active felony warrant following an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation conducted by the Fort Myers Police Department.

The investigation started from a cyber tip submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children after an electronic service provider reported that it suspected that child sexual abuse material was associated with an online account using their platform, the FMPD said.

Investigators reviewed the provided account and subscriber information, which linked back to Ferguson. The FMPD then conducted a residential search warrant and recovered digital evidence that led to the issuance of the felony warrant.

The FMPD received assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and arrested Ferguson, the FMPD said.

Ferguson faces charges of obscene communication — computer pornography related to a minor and multiple counts of possession of obscene material.
