Crews extinguish residential fire in Bokeelia, no injuries reported

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

Crews from the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District responded to a structure fire in Bokeelia on Jan. 6. No injuries were reported.

At around 5 p.m., firefighters say that they responded to a residential fire at the Palms at Pine Island. When units arrived, they say, smoke was reported coming from a mobile home.

Because the home was locked, firefighters used specialized tools to gain entry. They were able to put it out quickly before it could spread further.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
