Hendry County man arrested after high-speed chase in Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

A Hendry County man was arrested after he was accused of speeding, leading to a chase with troopers in Lehigh Acres Monday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gabriel Arizmendi, 18, was accused of going 91 mph in a Ford sedan in a 45 mph zone on Lee Boulevard at 11:13 p.m.

Arizmendi is accused of fleeing the scene, turning his vehicle's lights off, and pulling into a driveway near 12th Street West and Rita Avenue, FHP said.

He is facing charges of fleeing and eluding, and reckless driving.
