How to become a WINK Weather Watcher

Living in Southwest Florida is anything but boring. Here at WINK News, we want you, the community, to join us on our brand-new volunteer initiative—WINK Weather Watchers.

As we begin hurricane season, weather events will become more common, so we are soliciting your help to become our eyes and ears throughout our beautiful Southwest Florida community.

The WINK Weather Watchers will consist of dedicated volunteers and weather enthusiasts, connecting the community to real weather across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, DeSoto and Glades counties.

Our weather watchers will track and share observations, from cool, sunny winter days to severe weather seen throughout the year.

You might ask, “What can you do as a weather watcher?”

As volunteers, we invite you to share weather photos and videos. We're looking for your best sunrise/sunset photos, rain totals, severe weather phenomena and damage.

Also, your photos may be shown with your name (if you choose) on-air and online.
