Teen arrested after attempted robbery at Lehigh Acres 7-Eleven

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

Lee County deputies arrested a 15-year-old boy following an attempted robbery at a Lehigh Acres convenience store on New Year’s Day. Investigators are still searching for a second suspect.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, two teens entered a 7-Eleven on Meadow Road and Bell Boulevard around 4:30 a.m., claiming they needed to warm up from the cold. Deputies say the pair wandered around the store without purchasing anything before leaving.

Investigators say the teens later returned, this time armed with what the cashier believed to be an airsoft rifle. Surveillance video shows an altercation inside the store, with the cashier pushing one of the teens out.

Deputies say the second teen then pointed the weapon at the cashier and fired pellets before both suspects fled without any cash.

The following day, deputies located and arrested 15-year-old Angel Guzman. Body camera video shows deputies taking Guzman into custody without incident.

Guzman is charged with robbery. Authorities say the second suspect has not been identified.
