'The Price Is Right' win sends Naples woman on 3 dream vacations

NAPLES, Fla.—A Naples resident experienced a moment many only dream of—hearing their name called on "The Price Is Right." Stephanie Evans not only listened to her name being called but also claimed victory on the popular game show.

Surrounded by cheers and the support of friends, Evans embraced the excitement of her big win.

“I knew they would pick Stephanie, and I'm so proud of her,” said a community member. “She knows so many people in the community as close friends, and they all showed up for her at this event.”

Evans shared her nervousness during the show, recalling host Drew Carey's pep talk during a commercial break.

“Drew Carey during a commercial break. He had to say, We need to calm you down like they didn't think you'd be this freaked out, because I was so nervous,” said Evans.

Carey offered a bit of advice to ease her nerves. 

“Here's a little showbiz tip. Imagine that the crew members here are just some students, ignore the cameras, and they're just students, and you're just here, and we're just gonna give a little lecture on winning prizes, all right?” Carey said.

The excitement culminated in a memorable win for Evans.

“When she won the prize on stage, the three vacations, I realized we're gonna have a busy year,” said John Evans, her husband.

Stephanie's prizes included trips to Canada, Spain, and Aruba, as announced by Carey.

“Stephanie, sounds like you need more than one vacation. How about three of them? It's trips to Canada, Spain, and Aruba!” Carey said.

Reflecting on her experience, Evans encouraged others to take a chance.

“I would recommend anyone going to any type of game show,” said Evans. “It could be you, you never know. You never know, because the chances of getting picked are really slim. But somebody has to get picked.”
