18th annual Fort Myers Police Department Cops & Joggers 5K set for Saturday

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

The 18th annual Fort Myers Police Department Cops & Joggers 5K is set for Saturday.

The event is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at the Caloosa Sound Amphitheater across from Luminary Hotel in Fort Myers.

There will be music, food, bounce houses, vendors, displays and more, according to the event. People can sign up for the race up until it starts.

The race will start and end in downtown Fort Myers. It will run across the river and cross the Edison Bridge as police lights will light up the area.

Participants can register and pay $30 to pick up their T-shirt in person at a designated packet pick-up or pay $35 to have their shirts mailed.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fort Myers Police Department Fallen Officer Memorial Foundation and the Brotherhood Ride.

The Caloosahatchee Bridge will be closed from 5 to 7 p.m. or until all runners and walkers are off the bridge.
