Man arrested for hurling bricks at vehicle in Lehigh Acres neighborhood

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

A man was caught on camera throwing bricks at a Lehigh Acres resident's vehicle before taking off as he was being confronted.

On Sunday afternoon, the victims were outside their home in the 1000 block of Craft Street as they saw the suspect come from a wooded area with two bricks in hand.

Video shows the man then approach a vehicle parked in front of the home and throw the bricks into the car, shattering a window. The man then fled back into the nearby tree line, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

The man, later identified as Martin Zavala, 33, was found by deputies trying to hide himself inside a nearby canal, LCSO said.

Zavala was taken to the Lee County Jail and is facing charges of criminal mischief and use of a deadly weapon.
