2 Charlotte County felons sentenced in separate cases as habitual felony offenders

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office announced that two men have been sentenced and designated as habitual felony offenders.

In June 2025, Robert Adams, 41, set up a drug deal between himself and an undercover deputy. He sold counterfeit methamphetamine. Adams also broke into a vehicle, stole debit and credit cards and used them fraudulently at a store. Later, he was found to be driving with a suspended license.

In May 2023, Christopher Jackson, 54, was pulled over for a traffic infraction. Deputies found out that Jackson had been driving with 12 active suspensions on his license. Deputies also found over 46 grams of methamphetamine and over 100 oxycodone pills.

Both men have been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

A "habitual felony offender" is a defendant who has been convicted of multiple prior felonies. This means that they can incur longer prison times.
