Police investigate aggravated assault incident in south Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla.—The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault incident on Miramar Street, near York Street, in South Cape Coral.

According to a WINK News viewer, police gathered around the area at around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Police confirmed to WINK News that an active search had occurred, saying K9s and drones are in the area. 

At 1 p.m., police cleared the scene. It remains unclear whether they located the suspect involved. 

WINK News reporter Paul Dolan arrived on the scene to gather more information and provide updates whenever they become available.

The investigation remains ongoing.
