Search underway for suspect after aggravated assault in downtown Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

An active search is underway for a suspect after an aggravated assault near the 800 block of Miramar Street in Cape Coral Thursday.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department, K9s and drones are being utilized in the search.

CCPD said the suspect may still be in the area and urged people to stay in their homes and avoid the area.

The police department said more information will be forthcoming.
