Over 1000 Hendry County residents experiencing power outage

More than 1,000 Hendry County Florida Power and Light customers are experiencing an early morning power outage.

According to FPL, the outage began at 6:29 a.m. Friday and is affecting 1,070 customers.

A power restoration specialist was in the area working to restore power. FPL estimated that power would be restored by 9 a.m.

The cause of the outage was under investigation.
