1400 acre prescribed burn begins in Collier County, near SR-29

The Florida Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn in Collier County. 

The burn is 1400-acres and is happening near State Road 29 and US-41 at Everglades City.

Expect to see smoke in the area and use caution when nearby.

The Florida Forest Service said a prescribed burn is a form of ecological management for wildlife habitat and timber management.
