Lee County couple faces jail over missing $40K in home repair case

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lee County judge is demanding answers from a couple regarding the whereabouts of $40,000. The judge has asked for a paper trail showing where Joe Salvaggio's money went, and if the couple cannot provide it, they could face jail time.

Authorities clarified that this warrant is not part of a criminal case. The couple lost a lawsuit months ago concerning unfinished work on Salvaggio's home. Nadine Beebe is currently behind bars because the paperwork the judge requested has not been submitted. This paperwork includes crucial financial records and documentation.

Joe Salvaggio said he wants to know where his money went.

"The legal thing is he never produced the items that he was supposed to," said Salvaggio of Fort Myers Beach. "In other words, the court during the case, the court asked him for all of his bank and business records to show when my money that he took from me went in the bank and then where it went."

Edward Beebe also has a warrant for his arrest, but it has not been served yet.
