Man accused of trafficking over 2 kilograms of cocaine, weapon found in car in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A man was arrested in Lee County after being accused of trafficking over 2 kilograms of cocaine.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, detectives with the Tactical Narcotics Team and members of the Narcotics Unit arrested Jessie Lee Freeman, 27, in relation to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

On Thursday, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Freeman and searched the vehicle. They found over two kilograms of cocaine as well as a firearm in the back seat, LCSO said.

Through the investigation, detectives also found probable cause to execute residential search warrants at two Lehigh Acres locations that Freeman was known to frequent.

The residential search warrants resulted in detectives finding over 2.7 kilograms of gold jewelry, over $130,000 in cash and various items of drug equipment consistent with drug distribution, LCSO said.

Freeman faces charges of trafficking in cocaine and owning property used to manufacture or traffic narcotics.

"The incredible work of our Narcotics Detectives is exactly how we uphold law and order in Lee County," Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said. "We will continue to track down drug traffickers, remove them from our streets, and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law."
