Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has attributed the recent rise in prices on many items offered by the retailer to tariffs implemented during President Donald Trump's second term.
On Tuesday, Jassy said that the company had initially stocked up on inventory ahead of the administration's tariff announcement last spring, but that supply was depleted by the fall.
He explained that the tariffs have resulted in most sellers passing on the costs to consumers.
