Fort Myers city employees experience payday delay due to technical glitch

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

Fort Myers city employees encountered a delay in receiving their paychecks today due to a technical glitch in the system, according to the city's IT department.

The department told Gulf Coast News that many paycheck amounts had to be entered manually due to a glitch in the system. They also added that due to the new year tax changes and holiday on Monday, city teams worked on a compressed schedule to execute payroll.

The department said that, depending on the bank, all deposits should be made by the end of the day Thursday.

The city government said it is working diligently to ensure all city employees are paid as accurately and as timely as possible.
