Crews rescue man trapped inside shipping container in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

The South Trail Fire Protection and Rescue Service District said they rescued a man trapped inside a shipping container Thursday afternoon.

Crews said the heavy metal materials and equipment pinned both of the man's legs. They responded around 4:16 pm and were able to pull him to safety.

The San Carlos Park Fire Protection and Rescue Service District also assisted.

The man was transferred by Lee County EMS and later taken to the hospital, according to the fire district.
