Former iconic Shell Factory in North Fort Myers sold for almost $4M

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. —

The iconic Shell Factory in North Fort Myers has been sold Friday for $3,925,000.

The Southwest Florida landmark closed in 2024 after it became too expensive to maintain following hurricanes, flooding and a fire.

The Shell Factory was established in North Fort Myers in 1938. The 18-acre, Florida roadside attraction entertained multiple generations with amusement-style rides, arcade games, mini golf, wildlife and more.

Commercial Property Southwest Florida said the buyer plans to redevelop the site, but final plans have not been announced.
