The 35th annual Tour de Cape continued its second day with a 5K run and a mini kids' bike ride, starting at Rotary Park Environmental Center.
Participants in the 5K lined up at 8 a.m., running all the way down to SW 58th Terrace near Tarpon Point Marina and back. Upon finishing, runners and walkers received a grab-and-go breakfast and a T-shirt.
Shortly after the 5K concluded, the mini kids' bike ride began at 10:30 a.m., following the same path as the 5K. At the end of the race, children enjoyed pizza and drinks.
Tomorrow's event will focus on biking, with hundreds of cyclists starting their ride at Rotary Park. The 62- and 100-mile rides will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 15- and 30-mile rides at 8 a.m. Even those not participating are encouraged to come out and cheer on the athletes.
