1 injured after crash between trucks near Michael G. Rippe Parkway in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

One person was injured after a crash involving a box truck and a pickup truck at the U.S. 41 and Michael G. Rippe Parkway intersection.

The crash happened Monday shortly before 2 p.m.

According to the San Carlos Park Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, the driver of the pickup truck had to be rescued from the vehicle and was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The SCPFD said two lanes of U.S. 41 northbound remain closed, and westbound traffic on Michael G. Rippe Parkway was impacted following the crash.
