New Clewiston police chief sworn in

CLEWISTON, Fla. —

The new chief of the Clewiston Police Department was sworn in Monday night at the Clewiston City Commission meeting.

Chief Wilmer "Tico" Salgado is a long-term resident of Hendry County and has almost 20 years of service in both corrections and law enforcement.

The Clewiston Police Department said Salgado has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and a genuine commitment to keeping the community safe.

"We are all incredibly proud to see you step into this vital leadership role. Your dedication to Clewiston does not go unnoticed," the Clewiston Police Department said. "Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement! The community stands behind you."
