Southwest Airlines introduces assigned seating policy

Southwest Airlines has implemented a new assigned seating policy for flights starting Tuesday morning, allowing passengers to select seats in advance for an additional fee.

This marks a big change for the airline, which previously let passengers choose any open seat once they boarded.

Travelers can now purchase options that include the ability to select seats with extra legroom, while other flyers will be assigned a seat at check-in.
