Community in Collier County to hold vigil For Alex Pretti

Community members in Collier County are rallying for justice and accountability in memory of Alex Pretti at a candlelight vigil.

Organized by Indivisible Gambit SWFL, the vigil will take place on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the steps of the Collier County Courthouse, 3315 Tamiami Trail E.

Participants are encouraged to bring battery-operated candles or use phone flashlights as they hold signs calling for transparency and policy change.

The event will begin with a rally, followed by a moment of silence to honor Alex Pretti and others they say are affected by violent enforcement practices. Attendees will then move to the corner of Airport Road and US 41 to share their message with the community.

Organizers are calling on elected officials to end 287g agreements and demand transparency from ICE, emphasizing the need for significant change in enforcement policies.
