Man accused of illegally dumping over 2,000 pounds of debris in Clewiston

CLEWISTON, Fla. —

A man was arrested after being accused of illegal dumping at the intersection of Sawgrass Street and Avenida Del Rio in Clewiston.

Officers responded to reports of illegal dumping involving a large quantity of demolition debris on Jan. 26 and 27, and conducted follow-up investigations, according to the Clewiston Police Department.

Officers gathered witness statements, photos, videos and certified weight verification, and identified the suspect responsible for unlawfully disposing of the materials, CPD said.

Officers arrested Jamie Joseph Navarro, 34, on Jan. 27. The recovered demolition debris weighed approximately 2,260 pounds, CPD said.

Navarro faces a charge of felony illegal dumping.
