New freestanding emergency room coming to Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

As Lee County continues to grow, emergency response times can stretch longer, and health care leaders say access is more important than ever.

To help meet that demand, HCA Florida is breaking ground on a new freestanding emergency department designed to deliver fast, convenient emergency care without the need for a hospital visit.

The new HCA Florida Alico Emergency Center will be located on Vintage Commerce Boulevard, just off Alico Road and Three Oaks Parkway, near Interstate 75.

The facility will offer full-service emergency care, including 11 exam rooms, on-site lab services, X-rays, CT scanning and ultrasound.

HCA already operates two freestanding emergency rooms in Lee County, one in Cape Coral off Pine Island Road and another in Fort Myers along College Parkway.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Alico Emergency Center is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m.

The HCA Florida Alico Emergency Center is expected to open by this fall, expanding emergency care access for one of Southwest Florida’s fastest-growing areas.
