Streaming Now: Washington D.C. honors victims of tragic plane-helicopter crash at DCA with televised memorial service

WASHINGTON - A memorial service is being held to honor those who lost their lives in the tragic midair crash between an American Airlines plane and a helicopter last January at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

Olivia Rinaldi is serving as the master of ceremonies for the event.

According to federal aviation officials, the American Eagle flight carrying 64 people had taken off from Wichita, Kansas, and was approaching for landing when the collision occurred.

The helicopter was on a training mission with three on board and was on its way to DCA in Washington, D.C., when it crossed into the plane’s path.

The memorial began at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
