Clewiston man caught dumping 2,000 pounds of debris, faces felony charges

CLEWISTON, Fla. - The Clewiston Police Department arrested a Clewiston man for illegal dumping of over 2,000 pounds of debris on Tuesday.

Clewiston PD arrested Jamie Navarro following an investigation into illegal dumping at the intersection of Sawgrass Street and Avenida Del Rio.

Authorities responded to reports of a large quantity of demolition debris dumped between Monday and Tuesday. They conducted follow-up investigations using witness statements, photographic and video evidence, and certified weight verification.

Clewiston PD said the demolition debris weighed about 2,000 pounds, surpassing the threshold for Felony Illegal Dumping.

Navarro was charged with Felony Illegal Dumping for disposing of more than 500 pounds of debris.
