Man missing in Big Cypress National Preserve found

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A man who went missing in Big Cypress National Preserve in Collier County was found safe early this morning after a search involving multiple agencies.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, aviation and ground units were dispatched to the preserve shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday night after receiving reports of a lost individual.

CCSO worked alongside emergency medical services, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Greater Naples Fire Rescue to locate the man.

The man was found inside the preserve shortly after midnight, and he was transported to the hospital to get checked out, but appeared to be in good condition, CCSO said.
