California mother warns of GLP-1 drug dangers after child's overdose

A California mother is sounding the alarm about popular GLP-1 drugs after her 7-year-old daughter accidentally overdosed on Mounjaro, with doctors unable to reverse the effects.

Jessa, 7, had watched her mom inject the medicine, and when she had a stomachache, she copied what she had seen. This is when she reached into the refrigerator and injected herself with a powerful GLP-1 drug, Mounjaro. Within hours, she began vomiting and becoming dangerously weak. Poison control told her mother there was little doctors could do because there is no way to reverse a GLP-1 overdose. She eventually recovered.

The incident serves as a reminder to make sure to always store these types of drugs in high, locked cabinets or use a designated lockbox if the medication needs to be in the fridge. Another thing you can do is use resistant caps and keep the bottle tightly sealed.
