Man sentenced to 25 years in prison for trafficking meth in DeSoto County

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. —

A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Wednesday after being found guilty of trafficking methamphetamine in DeSoto County.

According to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, deputies with the Narcotics Unit found Charles Hatcher hiding in Hardee County in October 2025 with four outstanding warrants involving narcotics sales.

With assistance from the Hardee County Sheriff's Office, Hatcher was arrested following a search warrant, DCSO said.

Hatcher's case went to trial on Wednesday, and a jury found him guilty of trafficking methamphetamine 28 grams or more, and sentenced him to 25 years in prison, DCSO said.

"This successful arrest and sentencing of Hatcher showcases the persistence and dedication of our Detectives as well as their thorough investigation," DCSO said in a Facebook post. "Think twice before selling drugs in our county, we will find you and arrest you."
