Man arrested in Collier County, accused of leading troopers, deputies, police in multi-county chase

NAPLES, Fla. —

A multi-county pursuit involving Florida Highway Patrol state troopers, Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies, Collier County Sheriff's Office deputies and officers from the North Port Police Department ended with an arrest Saturday night.

According to a press release from FHP, troopers received a request for assistance from Charlotte County deputies and police regarding a criminal incident, during which a suspect drove away in a 2025 blue Lexus SUV on I-75.

The suspect drove away at high speed, which led to a pursuit that traveled into Collier County. Collier County deputies helped deploy stop sticks, which disabled the suspect's car at Pine Ridge Road.

The suspect was identified as Wilnick Brutus, 23, from Miami. He was booked into the Collier County Jail and charged with fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license and marijuana possession.
