Brush fire impacts I-75 traffic in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

A brush fire shut down part of Interstate 75 in Charlotte County on Monday afternoon.

According to the Florida Forest Service, the fire is named Yorkshire Blueleaf and was approximately 3 acres and zero percent contained as of 2:09 p.m.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said the northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 were shut down at Mile Marker 172, with traffic being redirected at Exit 170. The roadway has since reopened, according to the sheriff's office.
