3 animals dead as result of Lehigh Acres house fire

A home is at a total loss, and three pets have died after a fire at a Lehigh Acres home.

The fire occurred late Monday night, and crews were at the scene until Tuesday morning, where they wet remaining hotspots of the extinguished fire.

The Lehigh Fire Department confirmed that three pets were found dead inside the home and the house will be considered a total loss.

No other injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross will be assisting the displaced family.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
