BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — The Copperleaf Community's annual Hunger Walk takes place on Saturday, marking a significant event in their efforts to support the March to a Million Meals campaign. This annual event raises funds and provides food to those in need, showcasing the community's commitment to helping others.
The Hunger Walk began with food donations at 8 a.m. at the Copperleaf Clubhouse. An hour later, participants kicked off the sixth annual walk-and-bike event.
This initiative supports the Harry Chapin Food Bank in feeding families across Southwest Florida. Last year, over 300 neighbors donated more than 2,000 pounds of food to benefit the food bank.
"Jim and I were both raised in families where we were taught that god blesses you to be a blessing to others, and we have been so richly blessed, and we feel very thankful and fortunate to be able to give back to a community that's so generous, so lovely, and so welcoming," said Mary Beth Roane.
The Copperleaf Community's Hunger Walk provided an opportunity for exercise and community outreach, demonstrating the power of collective generosity. The event's impact extends far beyond the neighborhood, making a difference in the lives of many families.
