3 arrested in connection to armed robbery, beating in Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested three people in connection with an armed robbery in Lehigh Acres, Sheriff Carmine Marceno announced in a press conference.

According to an arrest report released by the LCSO, deputies were called to a home on Golfview Boulevard after reports of an armed robbery. Preliminary information from the Collier County Sheriff's Office indicates that an armed robbery had occurred at the residence and that the victim was hospitalized.

Due to the nature of the incident, the report says, the Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation.

The victim reportedly told deputies that they were contacted by Adelia Mendez, 22, who requested their help at her home to move a television. The victim says they initially refused before accepting when they were contacted again.

When the victim went to Mendez's house, the LCSO says, three men were also in the house. One of them locked the front door, and the other two began to beat the victim, with Mendez joining in, the report adds.

The LCSO says one of the men, 22-year-old Chelson Noncirel, demanded money from the victim, which was sent digitally. He then demanded the victim's car keys. The LCSO says when the victim refused, they were slapped, and Noncirel took their car keys.

The LCSO says that Noncirel planned to beat the victim because he believed that they were planning to have sex with Mendez.

Items stolen from the victim's car totaled approximately $1,000 in value.

The report goes on to say the victim was ordered by Noncirel to clean up the house because their blood was getting on the floor. The LCSO says that the victim was additionally told to remove their clothes. Noncirel reportedly took out a knife and threatened to poke the victim if the floor was not cleaned correctly.

The report says that suspects recorded the victim in their underwear and took their cellphone. Eventually, the report adds, the victim took the mop head and began to strike Noncirel before going home.

After the residence was searched by deputies, they found the items belonging to the victim, as well as their clothes. While a search warrant was executed, Mendez and Noncirel were detained. Also at the house was 21-year-old Widlinde Petit, whom the victim positively identified as involved in the beating, the LCSO says.

Petit, Noncirel and Mendez were all charged with robbery with a weapon, unarmed burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, grand theft of over $750 and less than $5,000, false imprisonment, and felony battery.
