Fort Myers police investigate retention pond off Hough Street

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

The Fort Myers Police Department is searching a retention pond off Hough Street on Thursday morning.

Lee County Sheriff's Office units are also on scene, including the underwater operations unit trailer.

Gulf Coast News teams on scene report seeing two men in dive gear searching the shallow end of a retention pond.

Gulf Coast News teams report that Hough Street from Thompson Street to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is blocked off.

FMPD confirmed that the scene is an ongoing investigation, but was not able to provide more information at this time.
