LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.—Three people are in custody after they allegedly lured a man to a home in Lehigh Acres and then attacked, held him at knifepoint, and robbed him, according to Lee County deputies.
The attack happened at a house on Golfview Boulevard in Lehigh Acres. The Lee County Sheriff's Office reported that a woman known to the victim brought him to the location, where he was attacked by several suspects. He was forced to use his phone to transfer money.
Deputies shared a video showing them surrounding the house on Golfview Boulevard. A search warrant led to the discovery of a knife, blood inside the residence, and video evidence of the assault. The victim was robbed of cash and personal property but managed to escape and seek help.
Authorities identified three suspects in their early 20s, who were taken into custody without incident.
"One's a female, two are males. 22-year-old Adelia Mendez, the other 20-year-old, Chelson Cirall, and 21-year-old Weldali, our suspects, are charged with aggravated battery, robbery with a weapon, false imprisonment, grand theft, burglary of a conveyance," said the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
A neighbor, Ramiro Alonso, expressed his surprise and concern about the incident.
"In the time I’ve been living here, I have never heard anything, not even robbery or anything like that for me. This neighborhood is very calm, but now, with that news you just gave me, I feel a bit unsafe," said Alonso.
The investigation remains active, according to the sheriff's office.
