Woman transported following home fire on Apollo Dr. in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla.—The Fort Myers Fire Department is on the scene combating a structure fire on Apollo Drive.

Firefighters responded to the scene near Ortiz and Michigan avenues at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Crews confirmed to WINK News that a woman has been transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation treatment. 

According to Fort Myers Fire Chief Tracy McMillion, the woman attempted to put out the fire from within the home

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
