Department of Health in Lee County reports 1 measles case

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

The Florida Department of Health in Lee County has reported one measles case.

According to their website, DOH-Lee reported one measles case in late January. Lee Health has clarified what exactly this means.

Lee Health told Gulf Coast News that while DOH-Lee reported one case of Measles in the county, there are no reported cases in their health system. They added that the reported case comes from an outbreak at Ave Maria University with 20 confirmed cases. One student involved in the outbreak has a listed address in Cape Coral.

Lee Health has not reported or confirmed any physical measles cases within Lee County.
