NAPLES, Fla. - Fifth Avenue South transformed into a luxury car lover's dream as Cars on Fifth returned for its main event. The annual showcase highlighted rare vehicles and drew massive crowds, but it also drove support for a cause impacting families across Collier County.
Tom O'Riordan, president of Naples Automotive Experience, expressed the excitement of the event.
"If you look around, you'll see some of the most amazing cars you'll ever see," said O'Riordan.
Cars on Fifth brought hundreds of luxury, vintage, and exotic vehicles to downtown Naples, attracting a massive crowd.
"But, you know, it's really more about Habitat for Humanity," said O'Riordan. "They've built 2,750 homes in Collier County since they started, about 100 a year, so it's really about that."
Last year, the event raised $2.9 million for affordable housing. The cars may drive people in, but the mission keeps it going.
Lisa Lefkow, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, emphasized the event's impact.
"Folks recognize that they can make a difference by visiting the cars and seeing all this amazing activity that goes on around this weekend," said Lefkow. "But also knowing that the proceeds from this event are going to help build more homes and stabilize our important workforce."
Alan Young from Team First Responders shared the appreciation they receive.
"So far, we've gotten a lot of attention, and people thanking us for what we do, for the first responders," said Young. "That's what I like, the respect we get from it."
The event showcased rare cars alongside meaningful causes.
"People love coming and seeing unique cars," said Matt Tobler from Gulf Coast Motorworks. "It's nice to bring it to people that don't usually see it all the time."
Lefkow highlighted the ongoing need for their work.
"There's so much need for the work that we do," said Lefkow. "And we remain the sole provider of affordable homeownership in Collier County."
Cars on Fifth once again proved it's about more than what's on display. It's about driving impact in the community.
