Charlotte County fire crews extinguish vehicle fire on I-75 Saturday

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

Charlotte County Fire and Emergency Medical Services crews responded to a vehicle fire on I-75 northbound on Saturday.

According to Charlotte County Public Safety, crews responded to the scene near mile marker 151 at around 2:44 p.m. after reports of a white sedan on fire.

Crews could see a visible column of smoke as they arrived at the scene. The vehicle was fully engulfed and had ignited a nearby grass fire, CCPS said.

Crews quickly extinguished both fires. I-75 northbound was temporarily shut down, but reopened after. CCPS said no injuries were reported.
