Super Bowl Sunday brings festive atmosphere to Downtown Fort Myers bars

DOWNTOWN FORT MYERS, Fla. - Downtown Fort Myers transformed into a lively celebration on Super Bowl Sunday as fans flocked to bars hours before the game began.

The area buzzed with pregame events, giant TVs, and abundant food and drinks.

Jeremy Christenson, an event planner, said, “We have a Super Bowl pregame parking lot party going on. We're one of the only places downtown that has a parking lot. So we took advantage of that. We brought in DJ savvy. We have 94.5 the Arrow radio station here. We're grilling outside. We had an outside patio bar. We had corn hole, a bunch of outside games going on out there, lot of fun.”

The excitement wasn't confined to one location. Just a few blocks away, Bay Street Yard drew fans with its open-air atmosphere and large screens.

"You got one of the best bars out here. It's open concept. It's outside. It's perfect weather out right now," said Joseph Leon, an employee at Bay Street Yard.

Patriots fans made their presence known, with spirited cheers echoing through the crowd.

“Let’s go Pats!!!” exclaimed Maria and Janice, Patriots fans.

Thomas Higgins, another Patriots fan, reflected on the team's journey, saying, “For so many years, we had tough times, and then we had 20 good years, couple years of bad. Now we feel like we're back.”

“If we get the win, it's going to be our seventh time bringing home the trophy. I mean, it's going to be amazing,” said Margo Meyer, a Patriots fan.

Even Seahawks fans felt the thrill of the event.

"I'm literally so excited we made it this far," said Haley Thompson, a Seahawks fan.

For some attendees, the night was about more than just football.

“I’m really looking forward to Bad Bunny,” said Maria and Janice, Patriots fans.

“The Patriots and Bad Bunny... what else can you ask for?” they added. “I love Bad Bunny.”

Fans remained in Downtown Fort Myers as the game began on Sunday.
